Transformation in
companies: BMW Data Analytics reference project.
A physical
300 m² world of experience with a comprehensive technical concept as well as a comprehensive
online workspace had to be designed, rolled out and looked after on a daily basis.
The challenge hereby - the opening was already planned 7 weeks after the kick-off of the project. The BMW Group relies on the know-how of Rabl & Hahn for the conception, establishment and implementation.
CHALLENGE
For the automotive industry, digitization is becoming a “game changer”. What is necessary for this? Willingness to change, pioneering and team spirit and of course extensive know-how in the targeted handling of data. Historically, the core business consisted of manufacturing and merging the individual vehicle components in the best quality and aligning with the premium demands of customers.
ASSIGNMENT
In February 2019, the Board of Management decided to take a supportive measure: the establishment of the Data Transformation Space in the FIZ (research and innovation center) and digitally on the BMW intranet with the motto MISSION TO IMPACT! The name says it all and embodies nothing less than the claim to become the leading tech company in the mobility sector.
The company only changes when the individual employee knows his customer and vehicle data, trusts it, connects with his process partners and makes data-based decisions (human augmentation). The Data Transformation Space was created exclusively for this transformation.
It is a source of information, cross-departmental on- / offline co-working space and informs and empowers 20,000 employees.

WHY
Who wouldn't want to meet the board? The three life-size LED walls with a total size of 6x3m make it possible to directly address employees via video.

HEATMAP
Using 100% GDPR-compliant, anonymous tracking, the individual routes taken by the Data Transformation Space visitors are recorded and classified accordingly. This data is visualized using a heat map tool. The length of the stay, the behavior and the number of visitors with regard to attractiveness, campaigns or events as well as their voluntary feedback evaluation represent the basis for update decisions of the room.
