But what actually is a HiPPO? It denotes the "highest paid person's opinion", someone who usually makes decisions based on proven parameters, i.e. convenience, his ego or in favor of his own benefit.

WHAT IS A HIPPO AND HOW DOES IT THINK?
Traditional decision-making structures easily become a brake for any innovation. Because in hierarchies, the so-called HiPPO is usually decisive in the end. The abbreviation stands for "Highest Paid Person Opinion" - usually the opinion of the person at the top management level.
There is nothing really wrong with that – but a lot of things are no longer right either. It is more than questionable whether classic HiPPOs would have identified and promoted the things that have shaken up the market in recent years.
True to the motto: Let data drive decisions, not the highest paid persons opinion. This video is dedicated to the HIPPOs out there. Maybe one or the other even recognizes themself in it?
